Cargo transit falls in Azerbaijan

The volume of goods in transit transported through Azerbaijan fell by 1.2174m tonnes year-on-year, in January-September, to 18.7461 tonnes.

State Customs Committee told APA that the exports in transit were 10.8153m tonnes and imports 7.9298m. 5.2764m tonnes were exported by sea, 971 700 tonnes by railway, 368 400 tonnes by truck, 2 800 tonnes by air, 4.1903m tonnes by pipeline.

207 200 tonnes were imported by sea, 4.4488m by railway, 815 600 tonnes by truck, 19 400 tonnes by air and 2.4131m by pipeline.

Cargos in transit were mainly sent to Switzerland (1.5527m tonnes), Italy (1.3217m), Georgia (952 600), Tajikistan (282 800 tonnes), Russia (157 700), Turkmenistan (139 200 tonnes), Iran (130 200), Turkey (125 400) and Cyprus (112 000).
