Defense and Finance Ministries blame each other for some officers not receive belongings compensation

"A number of officers-in-reserve cannot receive belongings compensation because, Finance Ministry did not allocated funds for it," said Ilgar Verdiyev, Defense Ministry press service officer.

He told the APA the problem was not caused by Defense Ministry.

Ilham Zeynalov, the chief of Finance Ministry Department for Financing Law Enforcement Bodies told the APA that they receive appeals from officers and Ombudsman on this matter.
He said only woman officers and the families of the late officers could receive compensation according to Cabinet of Ministers decision #641 effective till 2003.

"The officers could buy dress and other things at their own expenditures. Now they need for the compensation. Defense Ministry should pay compensation to them otherwise the officers will appeal to court," he said.

Anti-corruption Center in Armed Forces told the APA that Defense Ministry does not execute over 200 decisions maid by the court.

Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova told journalists last week that most of the complaints they received concern the compensation.
