Baku Bay shipyards to be relocated

The shipyards in the Baku Bay on the Caspian coast are to be relocated due to their causing extreme pollution of the Sea, an official from the Azerbaijan Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Latifa Huseynova, has said.

"The new locations of the plants have already been determined – they are likely to be based near Garadagh and Alat [settlements 60-70 km south of Baku]," Huseynova said.

She added that the work on relocating the shipyards is to be completed by the year-end, AssA-Irada reports.
