AIOC doubles gas output

The Azerbaijan International Operating Company's gas output more than doubled in the first half of 2006 compared to the same period of last year.

The company produced some 1.4bn cubic meters of gas from the major BP-operated Caspian field Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, or 784m cu. m. over January-June 2005. However, the figure was 0.6% below the projection, BP Azerbaijan told AssA-Irada.

AIOC extracted 1.888bn cu. m. of gas from the Azeri fields last year. The indicator is predicted to reach 3.3bn cu. m. in 2006.
 
All of the gas extracted from the block is delivered to Azerbaijan.
