Azerbaijan and Turkey can fund the Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalak-Kars railway project

Azerbaijan and Turkey can fund the Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalak-Kars railway line without foreign financial support, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Turan Morali stated.

According to APA, he said that there is a motor road parallel to the railway which needs extending.

"The railway will pass through mountainous areas. It presents difficulties to construct a new road and will take much time and capital. Despite existence of motor roads between Azerbaijan and Turkey, the infrastructure is still weak. This factor has certain impact on the transportation," Mr.Morali said.
