Azerbaijan has shown a record in the foreign exports of cigarettes in 2024.
The country exported cigarettes worth $23.54 million during the first eight months of this year, marking a threefold increase compared to the same period in 2023, Azernews reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the country exported 1.517 billion units of tobacco-containing cigarettes. Georgia accounted for 83% of Azerbaijan's cigarette exports, purchasing 1.257 billion units, valued at $21.3 million.
Additionally, cigarette production in Azerbaijan reached 11.981 billion units in the first three quarters of 2024, representing a 5.6% year-on-year increase.
