Azerbaijan-Turkey business forum to be held

About 30 Azeri businessmen left for Turkey today to attend the Azerbaijan-Turkey business forum to be held in Istanbul April 11.

The forum called "Investment opportunities in Azerbaijan" is organized by the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and Azerbaijani-Turkish Businessmen’s Union (ATBU) and held within the framework of the AZPROMO/ATBU – Istanbul Chamber of Commerce cooperation.

Besides businessmen, representatives of the relevant ministries of Azerbaijan and Turkey, the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Turan Morali, Consul general of Azerbaijan in Istanbul Ibrahim Yagubov and Azerbaijani parliamentarians are also expected to attend the forum.

On the first half of the day, the participants of the forum will discuss the themes "The economy of Azerbaijan and current situation of relations with Turkey", "Existing situation of the Azerbaijani economy and opportunities".

The Azerbaijani representatives are expected to deliver speeches on "Investment climate in Azerbaijan", "Financial sector in Azerbaijan", "Industrial, trade and textile sectors in Azerbaijan", "Building and building materials in Azerbaijan" and other topics, on the second half of the day bilateral meetings will be held.

The AZPROMO President Emil Majidov said that despite the high level of the Azerbaijan-Turkey economic cooperation, intensity of economic relations had not reached the desired level for the recent five years: "This business-forum aims to further increase the interest of Turkish business circles in Azerbaijan".
