Azerbaijan produced over 2 mln of oil in Q1 2006

Azerbaijan's State Oil Company said Wednesday it had produced 2.2162 million tons (16.29 million bbl) of oil in the first quarter of 2006, the same as in Q1 2005.

Production of natural gas in the same period was 34.1% higher against 2005, at 654.56 million cu m. The country also imported 1.335,6 billion cu m of Russian natural gas in the quarter.

The company produced a total of 8.967 million tons of oil (180,577 bpd) and 5.818 billion cu m of natural gas in 2005, RIA Novosti informed.

Russia planned to supply Azerbaijan in 2006 with 4.5 billion cu m of natural gas at $110 per 1,000 cu m.
