Oil being stolen from Baku-Supsa pipeline

Georgian police have discovered the theft of oil from the Baku-Supsa pipeline.

"Unknown persons have stolen a large amount of oil from the pipeline," Georgian Rustavi-2 news report said, but did not provide details.

Interior Ministry officials along with representatives from BP were examining the damage at the area where the oil was being siphoned off.

No arrests have been made.

The 515-mile pipeline transports oil from the Chirag field in Azerbaijan to the Supsa terminal on the Black Sea coast, United Press International reports.
