Azerbaijan sees rise in cargo and passenger transportation via vehicles

Some 78.2 million tones of cargo and 903.3 million passengers were transported via vehicles in Jan-Aug, 2012 in Azerbaijan. Cargo turnover increased by 7.7% and passenger transport by 8.7% in comparison with outcomes of 2011.

According to the State Statistics Committee, 96.4% of the passengers were transported via buses, while 3.6% via taxis. The number of the passengers who used metro was 126.7 mln and it increased by 8.2% in comparison with last year.
