SOCAR refinery ups oil processing

As of August 20, SOCAR's Azneftyag refinery processed 640,851 tons of oil compared to 636,831 tons envisaged for January-August, SOCAR said on Monday.

In particular, 341,320 tons of light oil were produced during this period, of which more than 68,700 tons fell to petrol and 191,370 tons - diesel fuel.

As of August 20, the plant produced 81,200 tons of kerosene.

As a result of the vacuum processing, the plant produced around 184,900 tons of oil distillates.

Oil products are produced at two Baku refineries with a capacity of 20 million tons of oil a year. Both refineries belong to SOCAR, which annually processes around 6 million tons of oil extracted onshore and offshore at its own expense.
