TeliaSonera`s activity in Azerbaijan hailed

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov has met President of TeliaSonera Lars Nyberg and his accompanying delegation.

Mr. Abbasov briefed the delegation on wide-scale projects carried out in Azerbaijan`s ICT sphere. He also said that$ 350 million would be allocated for developing broadband internet, adding that this would expand the activity of mobile operators in providing the country’s population with 4G technologies.

The Minister hailed the TeliaSonera`s activity in the country and highlighted the increasing successes of Azercell Telecom which is part of the TeliaSonera group and noted that these achievements had a special place in Azerbaijan`s economy.

Mr. Nyberg, in turn, expressed confidence on contribution of the Ministry of Communications for the further development of cooperation among the mobile operators.
The Minister provided information on the Internet Management Forum to be held in November in the country.

The President of TeliaSonera Group has been invited to the forum and BakuTel exhibition and conference.
