Azerbaijan regists over 4,000 customs offenses

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee registered 62 criminal cases in the first quarter, the committee said today.

According to the information, about 50 facts were related to smuggling, 22 of them - drug trafficking. About 2.69 kilograms of drugs, 6.16 kilograms - psychotropic substances were seized during the reporting period. Two facts of evasion from customs payments were also registered.

About 75 people were detained on these facts in January-March.

About 4,053 administrative offenses, of which 38 related to the smuggling attempt, 106 - non-declaration of transported items, goods or money were revealed during this period.
