MNP service to be applied in Azerbaijan this year

The service of number portability to be available in the operators' network this year, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry informed.  Operators have to prepare network infrastructure to render this service. The service will be launched simultaneously by all three GSM operators.

According to information, Mobile Number Portability (MNP) services will allow subscribers to preserve their phone number in case of changing the operators. The introduction of the MNP service increases the competition.
