Azerbaijan stock market announces 2011-results

The total turnover of transactions on all trading areas of the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) in 2011 amounted to 8.43 billion manat, increasing turnover by 3.78 times compared to 2010, the exchange said in a statement issued Thursday.

The market for corporate securities increased 2.4 times compared to 2010, amounting to 1.712 billion manat. It is due to increased volume of transactions in corporate bonds by 2.7 times.

The government securities market has grown by 4.4 times, reaching 6.7 billion manat. It is due to a nearly sevenfold increase in repo transactions and a 2.85-fold increase in transactions with Central Bank notes and the number of transactions in these areas increased by 1.9 times and 1.7 times respectively.
