Only 42 days left until the first European Games - Baku June 12. The Games are held on the initiative of the European Olympic Committee and will be held every four years. More than 6,000 athletes from 50 countries are expected to arrive in Baku.

Aerobic Gymnastics is one of the four non-Olympic sport, which will be included in the program of the Games. Following the format of the competition, mixed pairs and groups will compete for medals. It is significant that each group consists of five people.

By tradition, the press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation has always talked to athletes before they set off to represent the country in any sporting event. In some ways, they disagreed, but when we were talking about the European Games, they unanimously agreed that it is a very important event for them.

Question: How did you turn to gymnastics? Why did you choose this sport?

Vera Bosykh: I was 4 year-old when my parents took me to the gym (rhythmic gymnastics), but my sports career did not develop there. After consulting my parents, I decided to get involved in aerobic gymnastics.

Elchin Mammadov: At first, I was doing acrobatic gymnastics and after retirement, I decided to choose aerobic gymnastics. For me, this sport is very interesting...

Vladimir Dolmatov: It was an accident. On December 15, 2004 I was very bored sitting at home, and because my sister who at the time was training in aerobics I decided to go along with her and join in. I never looked back.

Ekaterina Kotliarova: I got involved in aerobic gymnastics when I was 15-year-old. It was not very popular then. I saw a school advertisement calling on people to join in so I did.
