Prisoner breaks out of prison in Gandja, Azerbaijan

A prisoner escaped from jail No2 in Gandja, one of the largest cities in Azerbaijan, at about 21.00 on January 4.

Hashimov Rahib Zulfugar, 27, was not found in prison during the night count and he was supposed of breaking out of the jail.

He had been sentenced to 3 years and a half under Article 177.2.2 and 177.2.3 (repeated theft) and 178.2.2 (repeated swindle).

The Justice Ministry Penitentiary Service confirmed the fact and reported that investigation and search is under way.
