OSCE Baku Office hosted discussion on changes in pre-trial procedures in Azerbaijan

The group met to discuss only one topic of the recommendations: "Reform of the Pre-Trial Detention System in Azerbaijan". Experts sent from relevant ministries and departments lawyers from the domestic NGO community, practicing advocates, independent international legal experts and expert representatives of OSCE/ODIHR were exchange their ideas on the topic.

In conclusion of the two-day discussion, the group agreed on a number of specific recommendations to the Government of Azerbaijan for institutional and structural changes in the police custody and pre-trial detention system.
