Have Tahir Khubanov and Teymuraz Aliyev who are accused of murdering Elmar Huseynov been arrested in Austria?

The source informing APA about it reported that Khubanov and Aliyev were arrested during the operation conducted by Interpol. Though the law enforcement bodies of Austria do not announce the names of the imprisoned officially they confirmed that they are Georgian citizens who have been specialized on ordered assassinations.

The detained suspects are accused of a number of hired assassinations. As concerns which country claimed to search the imprisoned Georgian killers through Interpol, it is not announced. The law enforcement bodies told that, the imprisoned hired assassins are the members of organized criminal gang which is involved in illicit trafficking of drugs, kidnapping, banditry and ordered assassinations. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili has confirmed the fact of two killers of Georgian citizen supposed to be in Austria. He said that the personalities of the detained killers identified.

According to the words of Zurabishvili the names and surnames of detainees as well as their being of citizen of Georgia are being investigated. It should be noted that, the process of imprisonment of two killers being the citizen of Georgia was implemented on 29 July.

Last week in the statement made to APA by the chief of foreign affairs office of Republican Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia Elza Gurgenidze said that T.Khubanov and T.Aliyev will not be handed over to Azerbaijani side. He based it with legislation of Georgia stating that there is no clause not depending of their committing crime they will not be handed over to another country. He said that materials of criminal case on Khubanov and Aliyev were asked Azerbaijani part to submit to, and he added that accused persons will be judged with the law of Georgia. It should be noted that, it is about 10 days that   members of investigation group composed of Prosecutor’s Office of Republic and National Security Ministry are in an official journey in Georgia.

We should remind that the explanation of the chief of foreign relations office of the Prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Georgia Elza Gurgenidze and members’ of the investigation group being sent on an official journey to Georgia took place after two Georgian citizens were arrested in Austria. Teymural Aliyev and Tahir Khubanov who are considered suspicious in committing the murder of Elmar Huseynov are also the citizens of Georgia.

The “APA” Information Agency established connection with respective state structures of Azerbaijan and Georgia for the purpose of determining more precisely the information about both persons’ were being arrested during an operation conducted by the Interpol in Austria. The chief of foreign relations office of the Prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Georgia Elza Gurgenidze did not want to give the explanation in connection with this question.

It was informed from the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Georgia that they do not have the information about two Georgian killers being arrested by the Interpol in Austria. Strange to say, though it was informed from FAM that they do not have the information about it, the head of FAM Salome Zurabishvili officially asserted the fact of the Georgian killers being arrested in his explanation to the “Rustavi-2” TV channel.

It was informed from the press-services of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Azerbaijan Republic and National Security Ministry that they are not informed about it.
