The Azerbaijan junior free-style team finished second in the World Cup in Plauen, Germany, drawing 4-4 with Russia but losing on additional points.

The big final that opposed Russia to Azerbaijan was highly intense with a tie of 4 victories to 4. The two teams had to be parted by the match classification points and Russia was crowned champion with 1 point difference.

The national team included Alisa Abbasov, Chingiz Gakhajov, Togrul Asgarov, Mahammad Muslumov, Ibrahim Yusifov, Ilham Khamikoyev, Aslanbek Alborov and Ali Mahammadabirov.
