Azerbaijani veteran weightlifter claims European crown

Veteran Azerbaijani weightlifter Ahmad Shahbazov weighing in at 94 kg has lifted a total of 285 kilograms (125+160) to claim gold in the European championship in Linz, Austria.

Another Azeri athlete Asif Malikov has lifted a total of 247 kilograms (111+136) to take silver in the 69 kg class. The tournament brought together more than 600 weightlifters from 33 countries.
