Azerbaijan will host international sailing regatta "President's Cup"

Academic international sailing regatta in the kayaks and canoes “President's Cup” will start in the KÜR teaching-learning sports center in Azerbaijan’s Mingachevir town on March 28.

The regatta "President's Cup” will be co-organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Rowing Federation of Azerbaijan.

Along with 180 paddlers from Azerbaijan, rowers from Georgia and Moldova are also expected to participate. The main goal of the tournament is to develop rowing, to popularize this sport among the population and determine the degree of readiness of the Azerbaijani rowers.

The competitions will be held on single (1X), double pair-oared (2X) boats, double boat without a rudder (2 - ), four pair-oared boats (4X), and four boat without a rudder. Each athlete can only compete in two different boats in this form of rowing.

The international regatta will conclude on March 31. Distinguished athletes will be awarded diplomas and medals by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan and National Rowing Federation of Azerbaijan.
