Azerbaijani sportsmen visit monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev - PHOTOS

The members of executive committee of the National Olympic Committee and Azerbaijani delegation, who will participate in London 2012 Summer Olympic Games, officially the Games of the XXX Olympiad, arrived in the park in front of the Heydar Aliyev Palace to revere a memory of architect and founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state, national leader Heydar Aliyev and laid flowers at the monument.

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Ismayil Ismayilov said the Azerbaijani Olympic team including 53 Olympians, who qualified for London 2012 Summer Olympic Games and have received best wishes from President of Azerbaijan, head of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev will leave for the Games. “We believe they will justify trust of the state and the President and worthily represent Azerbaijan and return to the motherland with medals.
The athletes promised to elevate the three-color flag of Azerbaijan and return to the motherland with victory.
