Azeri canoeing set to win London Olympic crown

Azerbaijan`s Olympic canoeing hopeful Valentin Demyanenko has said his goal is to win gold medal at the London Olympic Games this summer. Demyanenko, a three-time world and European champion, is training hard for the Olympics.

The 29-year-old is now taking part in the International President`s Cup-2012 regatta in Mingachevir. According to Demyanenko, he will stay in Mingachevir for two months following the tournament.

“In early June I will head to Moscow for the third stage of the world cup. On June 22-24 I will compete in the European championship in Zagreb.”
