Are three Azerbaijanis held hostage in China?

Our reader Bakhtiyar Mammadov sent a letter to Day.Az Agency. In his letter, he wrote that his friend, businessman from Russia, Emin Abdulkerimov, went to the Chinese city of Yiwu. Local gangsters have taken him hostage and demand $ 100,000 from relatives. Besides him, Azerbaijanis Ilham and Elshan, as well as a Russian citizen from Dagestan, also were held hostage by these gangs. “We have collected bulk of the sum and sent more than a week ago. But, they were not released. We have appealed to the embassy. Please help us!” the letter reads.

The agency appealed to Azerbaijani Interior Ministry’s spokesman Ehsan Zahidov in this regard. Zahidov said such issues are resolved at the level of the Foreign Ministry. "Your reader should appeal to the Foreign Ministry and inform them about this fact," he said.
 
In turn, the consular department of the Azerbaijani Embassy in China said the structure did not receive any written application in this regard. "Let your reader send us a formal written request. We are ready to deal with this fact and take appropriate action," the consular department reported.
