Azerbaijan to see 2 lunar eclipses in 2012

Two solar and two lunar eclipses will take place in 2012, Director of the Shamakhi Astrophysics Observatory of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Eyyub Guliyev said. The first partial lunar eclipse of 2012 will occur on June 4 (from 15.01 to 17.06). The second penumbral lunar eclipse will occur on November 28 (from 16.18 to 20.51). Both eclipses will be partially seen in the territory of Azerbaijan.

The first solar eclipse of 2012 will be observed on May 21. It will begin at 01.56 by Baku time and last until 07.49. The second total solar eclipse will occur from November 13 to 14. No one of the solar eclipses will be seen in the territory of Azerbaijan.
