Azerbaijan has lowest number of disabled people in CIS

The number of disabled people in Azerbaijan is 4.4 percent. This is the lowest figure in the CIS, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Fizuli Alakbarov said in an interview published on the official website of the ruling New Azerbaijan party.

"According to the World Health Organization, the share of disabled people in the world's population is 10 percent," he said. "This figure hits 4.4 percent in Azerbaijan. It is the lowest figure in the CIS." He said that the growth of disability in the country was practically suspended, and the rate of rehabilitation of disabled persons increased to 6 percent.
