
The Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) signed an agreement on scientific cooperation with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, ANAS reported.
President of ANAS Mahmud Karimov said while meeting with President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Nikola Sabotinov that it is necessary to establish mutual relations between the two countries in science, like in all other spheres, exchange knowledge and experience, prepare joint projects.
Sabotinov said the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has 6500 employees, 2900 of them have scientific degrees and titles, participate in the programs of NATO and the European Union. He said the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences established scientific partnership with 35 countries, bilateral relations with the academies of sciences and scientific institutions of 40 countries. The academy has got a center for regional scientific studies.
