Baku hosts international conference on de-institutionalization and alternative care

An international conference called “Totals of 2011 and future duties” as part of the State Program on De-Institutionalization and Alternative Care was held on Friday in Grand Hotel Europe in Azerbaijan`s capital.

The conference brought together representatives of relevant organizations from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Northern Cyprus, Georgia and international experts of the United Nations Children`s Fund (UNICEF).

Addressing the conference, Azerbaijan Ministry of Education Misir Mardanov noted Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev`s care and attention to the education and new generation. Misir Mardanov also underlined the general reconstructions of boarding-schools and children`s houses at the initiative of the first Lady of Azerbaijan, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva.

UNICEF representative in Azerbaijan Mark Hereward provided information on realized project by UNICEF in the country stressing the significance of the relevant state program. Wife of the Prime Minister of Northern Cyprus Gulin Kucuk underscored the fraternal relationship between the two countries. Azerbaijani parliamentarian Ganira Pashayeva and others shared views on ongoing projec.
