Schools closed in Azerbaijan’s Lankaran region

The heavy snow in Azerbaijan’s southern region caused serious problems. The landslides occurred again in the Lerik and Yardimli regions. The landslide and avalanches were recorded in 7 places in Yardimli’s Horavar and Separadi villages as well as several parts of Masalli-Yardimli highway. The landslide seriously damaged a house in the Nij village of Lerik.

The bad weather conditions left most of residential areas in Lankaran region and some districts of Lankaran town without electricity. The roads were iced. The lessons at the school were stopped due to the lacks of the central heating system.
