Azerbaijan partakes in Int'l Turkish Folk Culture Congress

Azerbaijani scientists are participating in the 8th International Turkish Folk Culture Congress in Izmir, Turkey. The conference organized by the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry brings together representatives from 14 countries.

Director of the Research and Training Center of Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism Ahmet Ari and Izmir deputy governor Haluk Tuncsu made speeches at the opening ceremony of the congress. The speakers stressed the significance of the event on the popularization of the Turkish-speaking countries` cultural heritage.

The three-day congress features 224 reports on literature, music, dance and entertainment in Turkish folk culture, traditions, customs and beliefs in Turkish folk culture, tangible cultural assets in Turkish folk culture, efforts and studies on intangible cultural heritage: education, research, inventory making, archiving, documentation and conservation, relationship between popular culture, media, internet and folk culture by 52 foreign scientists.
The congress will culminate on Thursday.
