Earthquake jolts central Azerbaijan

A 3.1-magnitude earthquake rocked Azerbaijan's Ismayilli region late Monday, Seismic Survey Centre of National Academy of Sciences reported Tuesday.

The quake occurred at 11:42 pm local time. Its epicentre was 15 kilometres west of Pirgulu settlement, Shamakhi region. A 3.0-magnitude tremor was felt in the settlement.

No destruction was reported. Ismayilli region is located 185 kilometres west of the country's capital Baku.
