Azerbaijan participates in European Employment Forum

Representatives of the Azerbaijani Labor and Social Protection Ministry took part in the European Employment Forum in Brussels, Belgium.

The European Employment Forum is an annual conference and exhibition focusing on the major social and economic issues surrounding employment and creating an effective discussion and meeting forum. The exhibition is the social centre of the Forum, the place for networking and informal discussions about the employment and social projects on display.

The main conference sessions and break-out Focus Groups will offer a range of views and updates on the current state of the labour market across the EU. Presentations will be made by senior representatives of the European Commission and the relevant Directorate Generals, as well as by leading figures in industry and a selection of the key social partners.

The 2011 conference will look at the labour market in the light of the significant changes that have taken place over the past few years to the global economy. Key issues to be discussed over the 2 days include Youth employment; The Agenda for new skills and jobs; The importance of SMEs in the labour market; opportunities for the ageing population; Using employment as a route out of poverty; Structural reform; Flexicurity – a new momentum; Innovation Union.
