Azerbaijan State Border Service detained 87 trespassers last month

State Border Service continued taking measures against smuggling, illegal migration, illicit drug turnover last month.

Press service of the State Border Service said that 87 people in 49 cases of illegal border crossing were detained in Azerbaijan last month. 80 people in 42 cases were detained while attempting to show forged documents.

153 wanted persons were detained and handed over to law enforcement bodies.

As a result measures against illicit drug turnover, 3.490 kg drugs were found and confiscated in 5 cases within the month.

As a result of anti-smuggle operations, smuggling in the amount of AZN 202 306 in 71 cases, including 50kg gunpowder, 1 pneumatic gun, 6 pneumatic chucks, 1 knife bayonet, 5835 boxes of cigarettes, 548 mobile phones, 185 mobile phone accessories, 2 pieces of jewelry, various alcoholic beverages, food products, industrial and agricultural products were detained.
