Heavy snowfall creates traffic problems in Aghsu pass and Mughanli-Ismayilli highway

On November 6-7, heavy snow fell in the regions of Shamaki, Ismayilli, Aghsu and Gebele regions of Azerbaijan.

20-30 cm snow covers the lowland, 35-45 cm – mountainous areas. Heavy snowfall created some problems, including complication of traffic in Aghsu pass and Shamakhi-Mughanli-Ismayilli highway.

20-30 cm snow covered the roads. Frosty weather restricted the traffic of cars. The roads are expected to be closed at night. Road police recommended using of Baku-Gazakh, Ujar-Goychay, Aghdash-Gebele highways as alternative roads.

Additional technical means were involved at the heavy snowfall sites in Shamakhi and Gebele regions to clean the roads.

Heavy rains were replaced by snowing in Goychay and Aghdash regions two hours ago.
