
Azerbaijan’s State Veterinary Service began investigation regarding the sheep and meat trading on the eve of Eid al-Adha (Festival of Sacrifice).
Head of the service Yolchu Khanveli said that experts of the veterinary service will examine the documents licensed sheep trading in Baku of the traders in the posts established on Lokbatan, Khirdalan, Shamakhi and Darnagul highways. “The experts will examine sheep and meat trading in Baku, as well as observing the sanitary rules. Those, who don’t meet these requirements, will be prevented from the sheep and meat trading. The population should be convinced that sheep and meat are healthy and qualitative”.
Khanveli said they would set fines for infringements. The individuals selling sheep and meat not in the special trade places will be fined in amount of AZN 25, legal entities – AZN 100-125, officials – AZN 40-60.
