“Baku” magazine opens Azerbaijan for Brits - UPDATE - PHOTOS

A presentation of the “Baku” international magazine took place in the Opera Gallery, in London, on Thursday. Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, editor-in-chief of “Baku” magazine Leyla Aliyeva participated in the event. The event also brought together Azerbaijan`s ambassador to the United Kingdom Fakhraddin Gurbanov, representatives of the British elite, lords, members of the Parliament, workers of art and culture.

Piccadilly square played host to the first presentation of the UK version of the “Baku” magazine. The magazine was issued in the publishing house “Cande Nast, where such popular magazine as Vogue, Tatler and Vanity Fair are published. The world-known “The Telegraph” newspaper characterized the first edition of the “Baku” magazine as a momentous event. The newspaper cited the speech of editor-in-chief Leyla Aliyeva.

“UK-version of the magazine has been published in Russia since 2007 plays a historical role in opening Azerbaijan and its capital to the world. The magazine acquaints European readership with the rich history, culture, art, wonderful traditions, cuisine of the ancient land of fire, Azerbaijan`s modern development, its important role in the international community and projects being implemented in the country,” said chief of the “Opera Galley” Jean David.
