Azerbaijan’s population growth rate will be 1.2% in 2010-2015

The population growth rate in Azerbaijan will account to 1.2 percent in 2010-2015, the United Nations said in "The State of World Population 2011" report.

According to the report, the total population in Azerbaijan will amount to 9.3 million, 4.6 million of which will be male and 4.7 million - female.

In 2010 urban population in Azerbaijan amounted to 52 percent, the report said. In 2010-2015 life expectancy for male will be 68 years old, for female - 74 years old.

In 2009 in Azerbaijan mortality rate under age 5 was 33.5 per 1,000 live births.
