Plane on Baku-London route successfully landed, no victims reported

A bmi plane flying the Baku-London route has made an emergency landing at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, a source at the Airport told Trend on Wednesday.

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) spokesman Maharram Safarli told Trend some 47 passengers and 7 crew members were on board of the plane.

"The plane successfully landed. No victims reported. At present, engineers work to eliminate the existing problems," Safarli said.

The plane made an emergency crash landing in Baku due to problems in the second engine, Safarli said.

The aircraft Airbus 321-200 departed from Baku at 12:08 Baku time.

As bmi airline said, the plane made emergency landing due to due to operational issues. The aircraft landed safely at Baku International Airport and all passengers and crew disembarked the aircraft as normal.

"Our airport team are looking after our passengers and refreshments and accommodation is being provided. The safety of our passengers and our crew is always our number one priority," the company said.
