2237 accidents killed 712 people, injured 2459 during nine months in Azerbaijan

The Republican Road Police Office publicized statistics of road accidents in the past nine months.

Chief of public relations department of the office Kamran Aliyev said that 2237 road accidents happened in January-September, 2011. 712 people died and 2459 were injured during these accidents.

1018 accidents were recorded in Baku in this period, 261 people died and 1017 were injured.

Kamran Aliyev noted that 38 percent of the accidents were related to the pedestrians. 266 pedestrians were killed and 645 were injured in 847 accidents.
