
Narcotic substances grown on the occupied territories of Azerbaijan are put in circulation illegally, Yury Fedotov, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) told journalists.
To him, opium production rose 615 in Afghanistan: “That is why, Azerbaijan and other countries must be ready for flow from there”.
Fedotov noted that if earlier the number of provinces in Afghanistan, not producing narcotic was 20, currently it dropped to 17: “According to official statistics, drug production makes 10% of only GDP in Afghanistan”.
