Azerbaijan seizes more heroin and methamphetamine

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee annually removes an average of 300-360 kilograms of drugs, Committee Head Aydin Aliyev said on Monday.

"The share of heroin and methamphetamine in the drug seizures increases, which is the disturbing factor," Aliyev said.

The Azerbaijani customs authorities seized over 220 kilograms of narcotic substances since early 2011.

Baku has today opened an international conference to combat drug trafficking. The conference is organized by the World Customs Organization, State Customs Committee and UN.
