Azerbaijan may lower interest rate on social mortgage

Lower social mortgage interest rates could soon be implemented Azerbaijan minister Azad Rahimov told journalists at a press conference this week.

He said the Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Ministry was seeking to drop the rate from its current four per cent per annum to two per cent over the same period.

Mr Rahimov added the ministry also proposed increasing the number of mortgage loans and felt confident his proposals would go through.
