Ganira Pashayeva proposes to harden punishment mechanisms for negligent doctors

Member of the Azerbaijani parliament Ganira Pashayeva proposed to harden punishment mechanisms for negligence of the doctors.

“We face serious negligence by the doctors in Azerbaijan. A number of complaints were received from the citizens. There are such cases that can not justify the doctors”, Pashayeva said during the international conference “Right to health: legal and ethic affairs of the healthcare” in Baku.

Pashayeva said legal and ethic affairs of the healthcare are new in Azerbaijan and therefore there are no enough legislative acts on it. “The law on the rights of patient is one of the important draft laws discussed at the autumn session of the parliament. This draft law needs in serious public debates before its adoption. It is also needed to take serious steps towards the implementation of this law. Currently the mechanisms against the doctor’s negligence are not effective. We have to harden these mechanisms”.
