Doctor of medical commission at Azerbaijan’s Sumgayit City Military Commissariat arrested over bribery

One more commissariat officer has been detained in Azerbaijan, the law-enforcement bodies said.

Doctor of Sumgayit City Military Commissariat Mirnazir Mukhtarov faced charges under article 311 (taking bribe) of the Criminal Code.

The Republic Military Prosecutor’s Office conducted inspections in Sumgayit Military Commissariat and found out serious facts of corruption. Mukhtarov was detained over these facts. Court passed a judgment on pre-trial restriction.

Former military commissar of Sumgayit, Colonel Samir Mammadov was detained over corruption in May. More than 20 commissariat officers have been brought to justice over corruption and bribery in the republic this year.
