Some 3540 Azerbaijanis study at Turkish universities

More than 26 000 foreigners from 147 countries are studying at the universities of Turkey. The Turkish media reported that most of the foreign students are from Azerbaijan.

According to the statistical data publicized by the Student Selection and Placement Center of Turkey (ÖSYM), 3540 Azerbaijanis are studying at Turkish universities.

Azerbaijan is followed by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (3503), Turkmenistan (2929), Iran (1305), Bulgaria (1143), Germany (1143), Greece (1099).

The number of the foreign students in Turkey has increased by 59 percent in the recent five years.
