ANAMA conducts mechanical demining operations on Turkish-Syrian border

Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Actions (ANAMA) launched mechanical demining operations in the territory of Turkish-Syrian border crossing terminal in accordance with an agreement reached with the Turkey’s Nokta Company, ANAMA sources said.

The agency will conduct demining operations and outside quality inspections in the territory.

160 thousand square meters were polluted with the anti-personnel and anti-tank mines.

According to the agreement, ANAMA’s Bozena -4 small-wheeled mechanical vehicle was involved in demining operations in Karkamish area of Turkey’s Gaziantep city. More than 100 thousand square meters have been cleaned since august and more than 50 anti-personnel and anti-tank mines were deactivated.
