Russian border guards detain Azerbaijan-owned vessel

The employees of the Russian Federal Security Service’s Border Office in Dagestan detained and examined “Tayfun” vessel which was navigating without any flag.

RIA Dagestan news agency reoprted that during the examination it was revealed that the vessel belonged to Azerbaijan. 1500kg sturgeon and prohibited hooks were found in the vessel. The ship was arrested and brought to Makhachkala sea port. The vessel will be returned to Azerbaijan after relevant documentation.

The Russian side has arrested “Tayfun” vessel 4 times over the past 2 years. Many sturgeons, and prohibited fishing equipments were seized during the examination of vessel, which was detained 4 times in 2010-2011.
