Salary of judges increased by 30 times in Azerbaijan over the last 11 years

The salary of judges were raised to 30 times in comparison with 2000, said Azerbaijani Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov during his speech at the international event organized in Baku by Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan on the occasion of 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s independence.

Minister said that new building of Supreme Court was opened, the work on construction of court buildings were continued.

Mammadov spoke about judicial reforms in Azerbaijan and said that the number of court administrators had increased.

Mammadov also underlined that nobody interferes in the activity of courts in Azerbaijan: “The independent judicial system was out of the question during USSR. The reforms had been implemented in this system after Azerbaijan gained independence”.
