Azerbaijani Army’s soldier wounds platoon commander

A soldier of the Azerbaijani Army wounded his platoon commander.

The incident occurred in the Defense Ministry’s unit in Nakhchivan. Soldier Huseynov Sarvan Vidadi accidentally shot at the platoon commander, senior lieutenant Balabey Veysalov, while he was carelessly cleaning his weapon.

The soldier was called up in January, 2011 by the Shmakhy region’s military commissariat. Veysalov was wounded and hospitalized. The fact is investigated.

Spokesperson for the Defense Ministry Teymur Abdullayev confirmed this report. He said the incident took place due to the soldier’s carelessness during the cleaning weapon. The officer was wounded in leg. Doctors said he was feeling well.
